Server Configuration Engineer Key Responsibilities


Internal IT Hardware Build Engineer Key Responsibilities:

+ Process incoming requirements relating to the building and configuration of servers
+ Update firmware and software packs
+ Install Operation Systems when needed and as defined
+ Provide support and cover within the Configuration team
+ Provide support for Internal Support team and external 3rd parties when required
+ Document and log server build changes and configuration changes
+ Load and configure data switch changes for a variety of applications
+ Escalate hardware fault calls to suppliers as and when required
+ Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to resolve build and configuration issues
+ Deputise and work with the Warehouse Manager to ensure all hardware is booked in correctly
+ Work to agreed KPI’s
+ PAT test and records result for devices
+ Ensure all information Security requirements are met

 Server Configuration Engineer  Skills and Experience:

+ Good knowledge and experience of PC and server hardware, and network fundamentals
+ Good knowledge of HPE server architecture and software
+ Good telephone manner and some experience of working with Fault Logging Systems is desirable
+ Adaptable to change and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
+ The ability to work as part of a team and individually, and to be able to produce results within a tight timeframe
+ A good working knowledge of information Security requirements as part of their current build role
+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
+ Able to work collaboratively as part of the team, but also independently and using your own initiative
+ A professional and confident approach
+ Accuracy and attention to detail
